About Our Founder and  Executive Director, Ronald Scott:

A native son, Ronald Scott, born in New Orleans, is a business executive, entrepreneur, and community activist that knows all too well the importance of a male figure being present in the lives of young people. At the age of seven, Ronald’s mother was killed in a car accident leaving behind his father to nurture and raise him. He went from living a decent childhood to having no access to basic necessities like running hot water and the ability to bathe every day. After the death of his mother, Ronald moved to the Westbank and lived in a one-bedroom apartment in a poverty-stricken neighborhood.

Although his environment showed no promise, Ronald was determined to transcend the circumstances and set out on a path to future success.

As a graduate of Nicholls State University, Ronald began a career path that would eventually lead him back to his passion to make a difference in the lives of all people. Ronald founded Brothers at Peace as a way to honor his mother and to thank his father for instilling in him the core values of family and community as well as to change the narrative about young boys and men with sensitivity to young boys and men of color. In every effort to shift the dialog and provide young people with an outlet to feel safe and learn life skills, Brothers at Peace believes in the comprehensive young person instilling in each member the capacity to show love and be loved, to give respect to get respect and to be empathic to the environment and those in it.

Through education, health and wellness, economic empowerment, and leadership development, Brothers at Peace is committed to providing positive role models, advocates, and trusted advisors to youth and adults throughout the country.

Ronald is married to his lovely wife, Ashley, and they have one beautiful daughter and three handsome sons.
